Meet Aleman – your guide and driver

Hello, I’m Aleman.
I moved to the Highlands over 30 years ago and quickly fell in love with its breathtaking scenery, rich history, and warm people.

This is my journey

Every road has a beginning. here’s mine.

The Move North
Finding Home in the Highlands.
Over 30 years ago, I moved to the Highlands and instantly felt something special. Inverness quickly became my home — a place where history, people, and nature come together in a way I’d never seen before.

Aleman’s tip: Every journey starts with curiosity. For me, it was one trip north that changed everything.

The Early Days
From Taxi Rides to Friendships.
I began with a small taxi and transfer service, helping locals and visitors travel comfortably around Inverness. It wasn’t long before every drive turned into a conversation — and every passenger felt more like a friend.

Worth knowing: Friendly Highland Tours is still built on that same personal approach - friendly chats, safe travel, and genuine care for each guest.

The First Tours
Turning the Wheel Toward Adventure.

In 2008, I took my first guests on a private Highland tour. That day, I realised this was what I wanted to do — share the stories, landscapes, and hidden corners of Scotland with people from all over the world.

Aleman’s tip: Showing someone Loch Ness for the first time still feels special - no matter how many times I’ve seen it.

Growing With The Road
From Inverness to the World
As the years went by, I began working with Invergordon Port, greeting cruise guests and showing them Scotland’s most popular sights in a single unforgettable day.
Today, Friendly Highland Tours welcomes travellers from every corner of the world — all looking for that personal, relaxed way to explore the Highlands.

Aleman’s tip: Good company, a comfortable seat, and Highland views — that’s all you really need for a perfect day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few common questions travellers often ask before their Highland tour. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to call or message Aleman — he’s always happy to help plan your day.

How did Friendly Highland Tours begin?

I started with a small taxi in Inverness. Every journey became a conversation, and soon every passenger felt like a friend. Those drives grew into private tours filled with stories and Highland scenery.

What makes your tours special compared with larger groups?

I prefer to keep tours small and personal. You have time to stop where you wish and enjoy the day at your own pace. When there are larger groups, I work with trusted drivers who share the same friendly approach, so everyone enjoys the same Highland welcome.

Why do travellers prefer touring with a local guide?

A local guide knows the roads, the views, and the quiet places most visitors miss. I have lived here for more than 30 years. Each story I share comes from real experience. Touring with me feels like seeing the Highlands with a trusted friend.

Do you drive all tours yourself?

Yes, I personally guide most tours. When I am booked. I work with a few trusted drivers who share my approach and friendly manner. You always know who will meet you before the tour. Ask early if you would like me to be your driver for the day.

What kind of vehicle do you use?

You travel in my Ford Tourneo Custom. It seats up to 8 travellers and has ample space for luggage. The car stays smooth on Highland roads and offers clear views in every direction. Many guests say the drive itself feels like part of the adventure.

How did you learn so much about the Highlands?

I have spent decades driving through every road and village. Locals share stories that never make it into guidebooks. I keep learning from them. Each tour gives me a chance to pass those stories on so you can see the real Highlands.

Can you arrange something extra during a tour?

Yes, you can. A distillery stop, a scenic walk, or lunch by the loch often adds a memorable touch. Some visits need advance booking. It helps to mention them early. I can guide you through options and timings to make the day fit you perfectly.
