Invergordon Port South

I will pick you up directly from your spot like port or a nearby hotel. Many guests join this tour after arriving at the Invergordon cruise port and are ready for a relaxed day through the Highland countryside. The morning drive passes farmland, quiet villages, and open views across the Cromarty Firth before the first main attraction.

Loch Ness

Our first stop brings you to the mysterious waters of Scotland’s most famous loch. It is surrounded by rolling hills that feel timeless and peaceful. I often pause at Dores Beach, where the view stretches far into the glen. It is a perfect place to take in the landscape's calm and beauty.
Important Notes SVG

Worth knowing: Loch Ness is deeper than the North Sea and stretches more than 20 miles. Even if Nessie hides, the atmosphere of the loch stays with you.

Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle stands proudly above the water with a sweeping view across the loch. Its weathered stones tell stories of clans and battles. You can wander through the ruins or take in the panorama from outside. It always leaves a strong impression.
Ticket Icon

Important : Tickets are not included. You can book directly with Historic Environment Scotland if you wish to visit inside. If you are also planning to visit the Loch Ness Centre, it is often convenient to book Urquhart Castle for around 9:30 am.

Ness Farm For Highland Cows

Ness Farm offers a quiet moment beside the loch. It is a gentle stop with peaceful views and a sense of calm that many guests appreciate. Highland cows live here too. Many guests enjoy seeing them.
Aleman Icon

Aleman’s tip: This is one of my favourite places to stop for a short break. You can really feel the stillness of the loch here.

Loch Ness Centre

optional add-on
If you are curious about the history and stories of the loch, the Loch Ness Centre is a good place to stop. It shares information through films, sound, and archive material. The visit gives you a clearer view of what people have seen in the water over the years.
Aleman Icon

Aleman’s tip: Let me know if you would like to include the centre. I will help plan the timing so it fits into the day.

Ticket Icon

Important: Tickets are not included. Please book in advance. If you are also visiting Urquhart Castle, it may work well to book the castle for around 9:30 am. You can then book the Loch Ness Centre between 10:30 and 11:00 am.

Culloden Battlefield

Culloden is a place of reflection. The Jacobite Rising ended here in 1746, and the moor still carries its quiet power. The visitor centre tells the story clearly and respectfully. It gives you a real sense of the past.
Aleman Icon

Aleman’s tip: A short visit here adds depth to the day. There is a cafe and a rest area if you wish to pause for a moment.

Clava Cairns

Clava Cairns is one of my favourite places on this route. The ancient stone circles and birch trees create a peaceful setting filled with quiet history. It is an easy walk and often becomes one of the most memorable moments of the day.
Important Notes SVG

Worth knowing: The site is free to visit and takes about 20 minutes to explore.

Inverness City

After time in the countryside, Inverness brings a friendly change of pace. You can stroll by the River Ness, browse the Victorian Market, or enjoy lunch at a local cafe. The city blends natural beauty with local character and a touch of fun.
Aleman Icon

Aleman’s tip: I can suggest a few lovely places for lunch that serve good food and offer friendly service.

St Andrew’s Cathedral

Just across the river stands St Andrew’s Cathedral. It is a peaceful landmark in the heart of Inverness. Its calm setting and soft interior light make it a restful stop during the day. The building offers a quiet atmosphere that many guests enjoy before continuing the tour.
Important Notes SVG

Worth knowing: Entry to the cathedral is free for general visits. Some areas may be restricted during services or maintenance.

James Pringle Woollen Mill Shop

This stop gives you a chance to browse Scottish gifts, woollen goods, and local treats. It is a relaxed place to pick up something special before the day ends.
You will find traditional tartan, knitwear, and a few food items as well. Guests often enjoy a short visit here before returning to the port.

Aleman’s tip: Let me know if you are looking for something in particular. I am happy to help you find it.

The Singleton Distillery Muir of Ord

optional add-on
Here you will see how whisky is made with care and skill. I plan our route so we reach Muir of Ord around 2:00pm in the afternoon. Tours are usually available then. You can join a tasting or walk through the visitor area. I will wait nearby.
Important Notes SVG

Important: Tours are popular in summer, so it is best to book in advance.

Meeting the Highland cows is always a highlight. Their long coats, calm nature, and curious faces make everyone smile. This is a joyful chance to meet gentle animals. You will take home a favourite memory.
