What Can Guests See During the Day?

The route depends on the tour booked. Some guests want Loch Ness. Others prefer castles, coastal views, villages, whisky related stops, or easy photo stops.

Aleman’s tip:
Tell me what matters most before booking. I will help plan a route that works with your ship time.

Loch Ness
Loch Ness is one of the most requested places for cruise guests visiting Invergordon. It works best as part of the South Loch Ness route.
Castles and Historic Stops
Some routes can include castle views or paid castle visits. Entry times and tickets may need to be planned before the tour.
Scenic Viewpoints
I know good places to stop for photos. The best stops depend on the route, weather, and time available.
Whisky Related Stops
Whisky related stops can be discussed before booking. Distillery visits often need advance planning and may not work with every route.
Local Villages
Some routes pass through smaller Highland towns and villages. These can be good for short stops, photos, and local character.
Highland Cows and Local Life
Many guests love meeting the Highland cows, and the South Loch Ness route can include a stop at Ness Farm to see them.  If countryside stops matter to your group, tell me before booking. I can explain what may work with the selected route.

What Can Be Changed Before Booking?

Parts of the tour can be changed before booking.

This may include adjusting the route or adding a photo stop. It may also include a whisky related stop, a lunch break, or more time at one place.

Please arrange this with me before the tour is booked. This gives me time to check distances, opening times, and what can work within your cruise schedule.

Some places may need advance booking. This can include castles, whisky distilleries, and other paid visitor attractions. Adding one stop may mean removing another. I will explain this clearly before your tour is confirmed.

Aleman Icon

Aleman’s tip: If one place matters most, mention this early. I can then help plan the day around that stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few common questions travellers often ask before their Invergordon Cruise Tours. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to call or message Aleman, he’s always happy to help plan your day.

Which Invergordon Port tour is best for a cruise day?

Aleman Icon

The South Loch Ness tour works well for Loch Ness, castle views, and classic Highland scenery. The North Highland tour is suited to coastal views, quieter places, local towns, and castle scenery. The Big Adventure tour is a varied day with scenery, nature, stories, and photo stops. If the best option is not clear, send me your ship time and group size. I will help work out the right route.

Will we get back to the cruise ship on time?

Getting you back in good time is the priority. The day is built around your ship and I leave a comfortable buffer before departure. You will not be left rushing at the end.

What happens if the cruise ship arrives late?

Aleman Icon

Please phone or email Friendly Highland Tours as soon as the arrival time changes. I will check the time available and adjust the route where possible. Some stops may need to be shortened or removed.

What happens if the ship cannot dock at Invergordon?

You are protected. If the ship is unable to dock for any reason that is not your fault, you receive a full refund. Just let me know as soon as you can.

How much walking is involved?

Aleman Icon

Walking depends on the tour and the stops selected. Many stops are suitable for short walks and photos. Some attractions or viewpoints may involve more walking. Tell me before booking if anyone in the group has mobility concerns. I can explain which route may work best.

Can larger groups book a private tour?

Aleman Icon

My own vehicle seats up to 8. If there are more of you, get in touch. I will look into arranging a second vehicle or driver so the whole group can travel together.
